Southern Telecom says it did a bit of public sector fiber work down in the southeastern US. They recently built a significant fiber network connecting municipal properties for an unnamed (and apparently bashful?) ‘large metropolitan city’ in the region. The city will use the fiber to suppot emergency response communications, and may leverage STI’s services for additional expansions and upgrades down the line.
