CenturyLink yesterday detailed a bit of what it has been working on lately. The company says that in 2019 it built fiber to an additional 18,000 buildings of all types across its global footprint. That buildout included extensive metro investments in Foster City CA, Hillsboro OR, Mesa AZ, Midland TX, Milpitas CA, Palo Alto CA, Franklin TN, and Troy MI. They are continuing that momentum with new network infrastructure this year in 20 more markets. On the consumer front, they added fiber that boosted internet speeds to 300K homes and small businesses, with another 400K on deck.
