Verizon has made a quick strategic acquisition of new talent and technology. The telecommunications giant announced this morning the acquisition of ProtectWise. ProtectWise specializes in Network Detection and Response, and its technology will be incorporated into Verizon’s enterprise security portfolio. Verizon is ramping up its organization for the actual rollout of 5G.
Akamai has revealed new enhancements to its edge platform this morning, hoping to better support enterprises migrating to the cloud. The enhancements include a laundry list of security features, adaptive acceleration capabilities, and streamlined APIs and other tools to better enable enterprises’ own processes.
