Equinix may be getting some new submarine cable connectivity out in APAC soon. RTI Connectivity has picked Equinix data centers for two endpoints of new JGA cable system they are building between Japan and Australia via Guam. JGA North will terminate at Equinix TY2 in Tokyo, while JGA South will terminate at Equinix SY4 in Sydney. From Guam JGA will connect to other cables with transpacific destinations, and it will also have a branch to Australia’s Sunshine Coast.
