Infinera revealed a significant contract with the 25,000km AAE-1 subsea cable system this week. The optical vendor’s ICE4 technology has been deployed by AAE-1 in an upgrade that double’s the system’s capacity while cutting costs and increasing service agility and network reliability. AAE-1 connects Europe with Southeast Asia via the Middle East, with branches to just about everyone along the way there.
