5G speeds and availability continue to increase around the world, with regional leaps forward due to network launches in places like India. Testing and analysis company Ookla recently released new reports on 5G markets around the world that give a sense of how the technology is maturing.
Here is a selection of Ookla’s breakdown of the fastest mobile networks around the world, both across existing network technologies as well as on 5G networks specifically.
-In the U.S., T-Mobile US was the fastest mobile operator. Ookla clocked T-Mo’s network at a median download speeds of nearly 164 Mbps–more than twice the speed of its closest competitor, Verizon, at 75.68 Mbps. On 5G, T-Mo also recorded the fastest speeds by far: 221.57 Mbps.
