123NET, DayStart, PFN Team Up For Michigan Intercity Route

Three regional communications companies have teamed up to put some new fiber in the ground up in Michigan. 123NET, DayStarr Communications, and Peninsula Fiber Network have plans to build a regional intercity link between the the markets of Southfield and Lansing.

The joint build will also bring fiber to the communities of Okemos, Williamstown, Webberville, Fowlerville, Howell, and Brighton, among others. That suggests it will generally follow I-96 or perhaps the older parallel route along Grand River Ave. The project will take some 18 months, and construction is already underway.
