Ciena has added some muscle to its portfolio for 5G. They have added 5G-optimized routers with an open network sliceing-capable architecture to support converged xHaul transport, and enhance their Blue Plant software automation platform with network slicing and dynamic planning capabilities to go along with it. It’s another example of the work going on out there to properly scale 5G deployments.
