Four interesting infrastructure items of regional interest to keep up with:
eX2 Technology is planning to build out FTTP up in Holland, Michigan. They have partnered with the Holland BPW to design and build a 195 mile network build to connect residences across the city in western Michigan. Holland BPW already has 260 miles of infrastructure in place, and the community has voted to invest in expanding that to bring 1Gbps to the home.
Spectrum Enterprise is supplying connectivity and other services to the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi TX. The upgrade has doubled the aquarium’s bandwidth and enabled unified communications via RingCentral to better support the employees and the programs they oversee. Such programs include rescues, veterinary activities, and ecosystem monitoring like that of sea turtle migration.
