The Fiber-to-the-Home opportunity has led to a bit of consolidation up in the Pacific Northwest. The regional provider LS Networks has entered into an agreement to acquire the residential service provider PocketiNet Communications.
LS Network operates 7,000 route miles of fiber centered on the state of Oregon with connectivity through much of Washington and parts of California. Meanwhile Pocketinet is an ISP focused on the SMB and residential marketplace in southeastern Washington and Northeastern Oregon. Their first FTTH market was in Walla Walla starting in 2015, which the followed up with in College Place, Yakima, Milton Freewater, and Waitsburg.
