Cinia’s ongoing plans to build a cable through the Arctic region got some reinforcements this week. The Finnish provider has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Far North Digital to help build the cable.
The proposed subsea cable will connect Europe and Japan via the Arctic Ocean. More specifically it will pass through the Northwest Passage along the Canadian coast, connecting landings in Norway, Finland, and Ireland with Japan while offering branches to indigenous communities in the Canadian Arctic and Alaska. The cable would offer a truly diverse route between Europe and Asia.
