As part of a fiber upgrade in Northern India, Netplus will deploy Nokia’s GPON technology to increase both capacity and speeds in its network.
Nokia said its GPON platform would integrate with Netplus’ existing network, which will allow the service provider to expand and grow its network without changing the networking gear. The network upgrade will enable Netplus, which is the broadband arm of Fastway Media, to provide quad play services in India, including IPTV.
Nokia’s GPON technology will be rolled out across the country with initial deployments starting in the states of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
