Infinera has won a subsea upgrade contract. The AAE-1 consortium will be using Infinera’s ICE6 coherent 800G solution to more than double capacity. AAE-1 connects Europe with Asia and Africa via the Middle East, spanning 25,000km and connecting 19 countries.
Ribbon picked up two global infrastructure customers last week. Colt Technology Services has deployed the company’s session border controllers in Japan. They’ll use the technology in support of its Microsoft Teams-based enterprise communications offerings. And in Europe, Kontron Transportation will be using their WDM technology to upgrade the Transilien SNCF Voyageurs optical network.
