Ericsson has reached an expensive resolution to its corruption problems with the US DOJ. They have agreed to pay a penalty of $1.06B, for which the DOJ will defer prosecution and have them dismissed later. The charges stem from Ericsson’s activities in Djibouti, China, Indonesia, Kuwait, and Vietnam, and were derived from the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Ericsson now hopes to move past all this and onto the next generation of technology.
