I have been an independent teleworker for almost 30 years. I like it. But when the teleworker is working for a company, the employer’s management style has to change.
According to results from Gallup’s 2015 Work and Education poll, a minority of American workers have telecommuted, but more reported that they did so more frequently in 2015 than did in the past three years. The growth of the teleworking practice appears to be slowing. But it is not decreasing. There will always be workers who cannot telework or those who can only telework part time.
