SNS Network and NVIDIA Launch AI Cloud Service in Malaysia

SNS Network Technology Berhad has announced its partnership with NVIDIA to launch an AI cloud infrastructure service in Malaysia, marking a significant milestone in the country’s AI development landscape. This locally hosted service leverages the power of 64 NVIDIA Hopper GPUs across eight Dell PowerEdge XE9680 servers. It also features state-of-the-art NVIDIA Quantum-2 InfiniBand networking to ensure seamless and high-speed data transfer. The system is further enhanced by the NVIDIA AI Enterprise software suite, pre-integrated with key tools and frameworks that facilitate AI-based workloads. The primary aim of this service is to offer an advanced GPU-as-a-service (GPUaaS) platform to cater to the computational needs of various enterprises in Malaysia, fostering an environment conducive to the proliferation of AI technologies across different sectors.

This service is strategically housed at Telekom Malaysia Berhad’s Data Center located in Cyberjaya’s Klang Valley. Allocating 50% of the computing capacity for commercial AI workloads, it aims to serve local enterprises, government bodies, and academic institutions. The remaining 50% is devoted to nurturing the AI industry via proof of concept (POC) activities, bootcamps, training programs, and hackathons. By providing an ecosystem that supports both commercial use and educational outreach, the platform is set to accelerate AI adoption and talent development in the region. This initiative targets multiple industry verticals including financial services, education, retail, telecommunications, manufacturing, and healthcare, aiming to cater to their specific AI-driven needs.

Empowering Enterprises and Institutions

SNS Network offers a variety of flexible subscription models that can be catered to the diverse computing needs of different enterprises, both large and small. The subscription plans ensure that organizations can scale their computing power based on demand, removing the need for enormous upfront capital expenditure on AI infrastructure. Additionally, SNS Network provides an AI readiness assessment service coupled with POC activities to help organizations understand their current AI capabilities. This initiative allows enterprises to evaluate prospective use cases and execute small-scale AI deployments before committing to full-scale integration. This methodical approach ensures that AI adoption is both seamless and efficient, empowering enterprises to harness AI technology confidently and effectively.

One of the standout features of the SNS Network’s AI cloud infrastructure is its local hosting, which complies with Malaysia’s stringent data privacy and security regulations. This ensures data sovereignty, allowing enterprises to store and process their data locally without fears of violating local laws. Ko Yun Hung, Managing Director of SNS Network, highlighted that the scalable service offers technology developers access to cutting-edge AI infrastructure without incurring significant capital expense. This model is particularly beneficial for startups and smaller enterprises that require high-performance computing resources but lack the budgets for in-house setups. By leveraging this service, these enterprises can scale their computing resources on the fly, ensuring that they only pay for what they use.
