Japanese telecom operator KDDI in boosting its IoT portfolio selected digital security solutions provider Gemalto to supply its LinqUs On-Demand Connectivity subscription management solution and embedded SIMs.
Gemalto said the solution is designed to secure connectivity for connected cars and “internet of things” applications. KDDI said the deal will enable it to provision any requested operator’s profile on connected cars equipped with pre-embedded ESIM, allowing automakers and solution providers to offer remote subscription over the air throughout the lifecycle of the car.
