Four interesting international items from four separate continents:

Telstra Wholesale has launched 400G on intercapital routes in Australia. They are leveraging Ciena’s 6500 Packet-Optical platform to upgrade their wavelength services. The deployment covers routes between Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane, with each having three geographically diverse paths. They expect to do the same on the Adelaide–Perth and Melbourne–Hobart routes in their fiscal year 2024.

Meanwhile, Hawe Telekom has completed a live network trial with Infinera. The Polish operator has put Infinera’s ICE6 800G coherent solution through its paces on its Warsaw-Poznan-Frankfurt route, demonstrating 600G, 700G, and 800G, achieving a total transmission of 1.6Tbps on a single interface module. Hawe operates 4,000km throughout Poland as a carrier’s carrier.
