Southeast Asia has itself a new Internet Exchange option. AMS-IX and HGC Global Communications have teamed up with International Gateway Company to build out a new IX in Bangkok, Thailand. Networks in Thailand and neighboring countries like Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, and Vietnam will be able to leverage the infrastructure to lower latency and keep traffic within the region.

Padtec is stretching its influence to the east with a greater presence in Africa. They now have a partnership in place with Zanecom over in Angola under which Padtec’s DWDM solutions will become part of Zanecom’s portfolio. The arrangement parallels Padtec’s relationship with Televes that got them into the broader EMEA region.
