Comcast Business is taking its fiber Ethernet deeper into Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The fiber arm of the cable giant has completed a significant upgrade to its infrastructure across the city, bringing 10Tbps dedicated connectivity and Ethernet private line services to the region’s businesses, schools, hospitals, and government agencies.
Windstream has applied for funds from the FCC’s Rural Digital Opportunity Fund Phase I auction. They plan to use the money to bring FTTH services to 200K locations across 18 states. It’s a followup to the CAF II program under which Windstream completed a project to bring broadband to 400K rural locations through December 2020.
