Two bits of data center M&A news, a network upgrade, and a couple network expansions:
Windstream Wholesale has expanded its ICON fiber network into a new location in the deep south. They have connected to a second DC BLOX facility, this time at 433 6th St. South in downtown Birmingham AL. DC BLOX’s edge data center footprint covers seven regional markets across five southern states.
Digital Realty’s purchase of a majority interest in Teraco in South Africa is now complete. Teraco operates seven facilities, four in Johannesburg, two in Cape Town, and one in Durban. The transaction values the company at about $3.6B.
