Thursday Bytes: QTS, CenturyLink, Epsilon, DE-CIX

QTS has made a green move, announcing today an agreement to buy some renewable power. It’s a 10-year deal with Rio Bravo Wind with the help of Calpine Energy and Citigroup Energy that will purchase power equivalent to QTS’s consumption in Chicago and Piscataway. QTS plans to go 100% renewable by 2025, and this is the path many data center operators have chosen to get to such a goal.

CenturyLink has added another Ethernet arrow to its quiver. Yesterday the company unveiled MEF CE 2.0-certified multipoint-to-multipoint E-LAN services.
