CoreSite has a new dark fiber provider out in the Bay Area. BandwidthIG has expanded its infrastructure into the company’s Santa Clara data center campus. BandwidthIG’s metro dark fiber infrastructure in the area stretches from Mountain View through Santa Clara, San Jose, and south to South San Jose. They also operate a substantial metro footprint in Atlanta.
DataBank has added some interesting technology at its ATL1 data center in Atlanta. They have installed a microgrid, leveraging a natural gas and diesel generator, energy cells, and a battery bank to enable smart power usage.
