Fiber M&A: CNS Acquires WCTG

A pile of fiber quietly changed hands last week up in Minnesota. Cooperative Network Services, LLC has purchased the assets of West Central Transport Group, LLC, perhaps kicking off a round of consolidation in a region that hasn’t seen as much of it as elsewhere in the country.

CNS operates a statewide network in Minnesota, while WCTG focuses on the west, central, and southern parts of the state. The combined network spans some 2,500 route miles, and when including the assets of partners that total reaches 10,200 route miles of fiber and 40K lit buildings.
