Prime Goes to Phoenix

May 8, 2023

The data center provider Prime is taking on a new market. They have unveiled expansion plans into the state of Arizona with a new data center campus in the Phoenix metro area, an infrastructure market whose star continues to rise.

Prime’s new campus will be built in Avondale, a suburb just to the west of Phoenix proper. When complete it will feature 5 buildings on 66.5 acres. The total planned capacity sill be 1.3M square feet of space and 210MW of critical power.

The first facility will be ready in Q3 of 2025, offering 1/5 of that total at 260,400 square feet and 42MW of power. Plans call for a closed-loop cooling system and access to 100% renewable energy.
