A new fiber route is in the works from a player I have run into for the first time this week. MOX Networks has announced the impending completion of a new route between Columbus, Ohio and Ashburn, Virginia.
They have apparently been putting the new infrastructure in place over the past 18 months, and expect to have it in service in Q2 of 2020. Unlike most other paths, MOX heads south from Columbus through Huntington, West Virginia and then back up through the Shenandoah Valley to reach the hub of Ashburn.
