MOX Networks has polished off another unique dark fiber network buildout, this time in the Pacific Northwest. It’s just 25 route miles of fiber connecting a half dozen key data centers in Hillsboro back over to Portland, but provides an important diverse alternative to existing infrastructure. As a followup, MOX plans to build up to Seattle as well.
MOX’s new route will provide both dark and lit services. The infrastructure market in Hillsboro continues to grow, as bandwidth and compute-hungry companies take advantage of the combination of the transpacific cable landings nearby and the wealth of power options available to them.
