Google Fiber holds just a very small portion of U.S. pay-TV market

Google Fiber may have ignited the 1 Gbps revolution in the U.S. broadband market, but according to data in the U.S. Copyright Office the service provider’s pay-TV service is barely a blip in the larger market.

Financial analyst firm MoffettNathanson, which collected the data, said that Google Fiber had only around 53,000 subscribers as of December, with the video customer base growing by 79 percent over the previous year.
